SteffI’m Stephanie, a 30-something married mama living in Chicago, one of the greatest cities in the world! When I was a teen living in the burbs, my friends and I always made lists of places in Chicago we wanted to explore, but, like typical teenagers, we never really checked too many of the locations off of our list. As an adult, I like to go to new places (mainly restaurants), but I feel like there’s so much city that I haven’t explored yet.

Until now. I promise to visit at least 52 new Chicago spots this year. (Accomplished in 2013!)

Although I love Chicago and all that it has to offer, I know I won’t live here forever. (Wah, wah..) One day I’ll probably move back to the burbs, but for now, I want to live it up, trying fun activities, going to different events, and visiting some of the city’s best restaurants, touring museums and cultural centers, street fairs and festivals—you name it, I’m (hopefully!) up to the challenge.

But this blog project isn’t just about scouting new Chicago places, it’s about the people I visit them with and those that I meet along the way. After all, what’s life all about if you don’t have anyone to share it with?

Check out my to-do list here!

  1. Hi there! Was researching some reviews for the cellophane treatment at Mario and came across your blog. This is so true to many of us, we live so close to Chicago, but don’t have the motivation to take the city up on what it has to offer. Kudos to you, my friend. I am going to make a summer to-do list for Chicago– can you believe I have not seen The Bean since they buffed out the seams? That’s at the top 🙂 And the walk from Hancock to Sears (not Willis) Tower. I look forward to reading about your adventures and just might have to borrow a few!! Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. Thanks, Mandy! I actually just went skating in Millennium Park (so fun!), so I’ll be posting some Bean photos soon. If you have any other ideas to share, please let me know. Always looking for something new and fun to do in this great city of ours. Have a good weekend! SK
